About Sana Sports Massage
Gillian Ashton has many years experience in complementary and alternative health approaches. The use of massage has been a passion for some time as it encourages the body's own healing process. She is forever striving to improve herself to help others more effectively.
Gillian is a Level 4 Qualified Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist as well as a Certified Oncology Massage Therapist and has completed further courses including; Myofascial Dry Cupping, Kinesiology Taping, Level 3 Diploma in Pathology, Mental Health First Aid, COVID-19 Awareness for Therapists and First Aid for Therapists.
Gillian has also trained as a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor.
Born in Zimbabwe, Gillian supported remote farming communities with urgent medical care in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana before moving to the United Kingdom in 2015.
An active lifestyle is key to good health. Gillian plays field hockey and enjoys swimming - both indoor and wild/cold water swimming.
Having had a diagnosis of a rare form of cancer - Immature Teratoma grade 1 stage 3 in 2011 - she understands the complexities that come with a cancer diagnosis.
